- Congratulations to the Hillwood High School High School Concert Band Members! Auditions for grades 10-12 were held Saturday, Dec 5. The band members did great! We have six students (so far) participating in Midstate Band this year and one in All State Band. Scott Franco qualified for All State for the third year in a row.

Fareed Rafipour (French Horn) - Bronze Band, 4th Alternate
9th graders will audition Saturday, Dec 12 at McGavock ... we wish them luck! (More information about the Midstate Concert schedule will be provided at a later date.)
- Schermerhorn Symphony Center Percussion Performance Tuesday, December 8. Select members of Hillwood's percussion will perform at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. The concert begins at 6:30 PM and tickets are required for the event.
The Country Music Association "Keep the Music Playing Foundation" concert is tonight; the CMA is giving Metro another $1,000,000 for the music department! Hillwood is one of eight Metro groups invited to perform for Dr. Register, Mayor Karl Dean, CMA Board of Directors, and various other notables. This is the band's first appearance as an ensemble to play Schermerhorn, though individuals have performed in other ensembles previously. Way to go Hillwood Band!
- Winter Concert Friday, December 11 at 7:30 PM. Several groups will be performing in this year's winter concert. A light reception will follow.
- HHS General Band Booster meeting will be Friday December 11 following the winter concert. We will discuss the Chicago Trip. The board will also accept nominations for the two positions recently vacant, those being treasurer and Co-VP of Ways and Means. We will hold elections during the regular monthly booster meeting Tuesday January 5th.
- December Calendar Handed Out Nov 24, 2009. The December Calendar contains a list of percussion rehearsals, upcoming events, and concert attire. Please make sure your band student has appropriate concert attire. The calendar was printed on a dark green sheet of paper. - Now Accepted: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AMEX, and PayPal. Band fees can now be paid by using a variety of methods through PayPal. Don't forget donations! We have a place for that now, too. Visit the HHS Band website at http://www.hillwoodband.com/ to see (and use) them.
