*Jazz Band information below.  Participation fee of $50 is in addition to regular band fees.  Money for the registration fee ($7) is due TODAY.  Please contact Mr. Shepherd or Mr. Chester if you have not paid.

* Band Booster meeting Tuesday, March 3.  Join us at 6:30 PM in the rehearsal hall to learn more about what will be happening in the coming months.

* PayPal now accepted! Band fees can now be paid by using PayPal.  Don't forget donations!  We have a place for that now, too.  Visit the HHS Band website at www.hillwoodband.com to see (and use) them.

* FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES:

From Mr. Chester and Mr. Shepherd:

Parents and students,

Jazz Band is off to a great start! We are having fun reading many charts from the different jazz idioms including swing, rock, ballad, latin, and even funk. The music is challenging yet accessible and we appreciate the students' involvement and effort. Below is our calendar. Please review and mark these dates.

Any performance that the jazz band commits to will require 100% of the membership. Also, please take care of your jazz band fee if you haven't already done so. This year's fee is $50 and can be taken from your fair-share account if you have a positive balance. Otherwise, please bring in a check so we can pay for music, transportation, etc.

Our first performance will be at the MTSBOA Solo/Ensemble Festival (Croft Middle site) on April 4 (time TBA). Please mark this date. We will register the jazz band, and everyone can bring their $7 registration fee to Mr. Shepherd or Mr. Chester (deadline Friday 2/27). Just make sure we know that it is for the jazz band entry. Also, we would like to extend jazz band rehearsal to 5pm after spring break to better prepare for our Festival performance. Please, email if this is a problem. Thank you.
