Sell SmartCards! Sell Fruit! Park cars! Raise money!
We all get tired of hearing it. But the fact is this: our Competitive Marching Band is self-pay.
Parents and Students who chose to participate knew that it was self-pay, but that the benefits of the program made the sacrifices bearable. At least that was my feeling at the first of the year. Actually, my first thought when I learned of the $800 fee was Holy Moley! but then I took a moment to breathe...
The good news...no, the GREAT NEWS is that these fees were not imposed without giving us some effective ways to raise the money. We have parents who are willing to coordinate SmartCard sales and the Fruit and Fudge Sale and picking up Christmas trees and Central Parking volunteers. We have grandparents and aunt and uncles and neighbors and co-workers who are willing to BUY SmartCards and fruit and use Kroger cards or let our children wash their cars, IF WE ASK THEM TO.
Go. Ask. All the fundraisers we have going right now are designed so the profit goes into individual accounts. Get a Kroger card from Lisa Gaeser, carry the fruit order form wherever you go, print out donation letters from the Boosters page of this website and send them to people you know won't buy fruit. ; )
The point is to ask. If you cannot pay the fees out of your pocket -and my family along with many others just can't- then use the fundraisers we have in place right now. That's why they are there.
